Vardis Proud To Support Victoria Plum & TPG in Appointing Ben Padley as Chief Marketing Officer
Victoria Plum, a leading online Bathroom Retailer, has appointed of Ben Padley as Chief Marketing Officer.
Prior to Victoria Plum Padley was Marketing Director Phones 4U from 2013. Earlier roles include a spent year as Global Digital Engagement Director Barclaycard. He was headhunted from Sony Ericsson into this newly created role and had responsibility for Global Digital Strategy across web, mobile and applications and CRM strategy, acquisition, retention strategies for B2C and B2B international markets.
During his time at Sony Ericsson, Padley held positions including Global Vice President, Head of Digital Marketing & CRM 2008 to 2011, Head of Music Marketing - Global Product Marketing Director 2006 to 2008, Marketing Director UK & Ireland 2004 to 2006 and Marketing Manager, UK & Ireland 2001 to 2004. In these roles he has had responsibility for all Global Internet based activity and managed all aspects of marketing for UK & Ireland including Brand; Advertising and Media; Sponsorship; Channel marketing and Field Sales Force with financial responsibility for €100 million marketing budget.
Victoria Plum is the most successful specialist retailer of bathrooms and bathroom accessories in the UK and, given recent performance, is on track to be the second largest bathroom retailer in the UK by the end of 2014. The Business is a pure play online retailer with no bricks and mortar retail footprint. Victoria Plum was launched in 1999 by brothers Sean and Jason Walker and has grown rapidly as more customers switch to online shopping. In April 2014 Victoria Plum signed a £200m deal to sell a majority stake in the business to US private equity firm TPG.
