Vardis Proud To Support Nautic Partners & HB Performance Systems Inc. (HAYES) in Appointing Phil Malliet as President and CEO


Phil Malliet joined Hayes as President and CEO, replacing Rand McNally, who retired in September, 2014.

Phil comes to Hayes from Lucas Milhaupt, global leader in the manufacture of brazing consumables where he was president and CEO for the last 10 years. With 30 years of success in leadership roles within a variety of industries including automotive, heavy duty truck, recreational vehicle, power sports, HVAC, medical transport, power generation and power distribution.

Throughout his career, Phil has proven the ability to attract and mentor highly productive teams. He has led them in the execution of aggressive, multi-faceted strategic initiatives that reflect the vision and deliver the company mission.

Phil earned his BS in Mechanical Engineering from Marquette University and an MBA also from Marquette.

Hayes designs and manufactures high performance systems for a number of power sport and specialty vehicles including motorcycle, ATV, UTV, snowmobile, construction, agriculture and military. Hayes also designs, manufactures and markets bicycle components under the globally recognized brands; Manitou, SUNringlé, Hayes Disc Brakes, Wheelsmith and Answer Product.

Founded in 1986, Nautic Partners is a middle-market private equity firm with over $2.5 billion of equity capital under management. Over three decades, they have completed more than 110 transactions, invested capital on behalf of their limited partners, and partnered with a wide array of talented management teams. Nautic targets equity investments of $25 to $75 million. They seek majority ownership in niche businesses with strong market share and growth potential, identified value enhancement opportunities, and strong management teams. Areas of focus include business services, manufacturing, and healthcare.
