Centerbridge names Stefan Zimmermann Chief Transformation Officer (CTO) at Senvion.
Stefan Zimmermann, the new Chief Transformation Officer of Senvion from 1January 2016 was previously Chief Operating Officer at MWM (formerly Deutz Power Systems). UK-based Private Equity firm 3i bought MWM in 2008, turned it around and successfully sold it to US strategic investor Caterpillar four years later. Zimmermann was previously Divisional Head Production, Plant Manager, Supply Chain and Logistics Manager with Ford Werke in very successful restructuring roles. He holds a M.Sc. Mechanical Engineering from Technical University Berlin.
Zimmermann is to work with Centerbridge’s operating executives to improve Senvion’s operations, supply chain, logistics as well as R&D and sales processes according to the investment thesis. He will be seconded from London to Hamburg.
Centerbridge, a multi-strategy private investment firm focused on leveraged buyouts and distressed securities with offices in New York and London, acquired Senvion, the €2bn revenue German offshore wind technology manufacturer early in 2015.
Senvion is market and technology leader in the offshore wind business, which develops, produces and distributes wind turbines to suit almost any location, with a rated power ranging from 2 to 6.2 megawatts. The company is headquartered in Hamburg in Germany and employs 3,700 staff.
